University Account Executive
About TruLeague:
TruLeague is a Boston-headquartered EdTech company building the relationship infrastructure for higher education enrollment. We help colleges and universities turn their students, alumni, faculty, and staff into powerful communities and ambassadors who create authentic, peer-to-peer connections with prospective students.
Higher ed institutions are under growing pressure to attract, engage, and enroll the right students, while prospective students want something traditional marketing and admissions outreach often can't provide: authentic insight from people who've actually experienced the institution. TruLeague bridges that gap—enabling institutions to activate their communities at scale while giving enrollment and student success teams actionable insight into prospective student engagement, questions, and intent.
We already have meaningful traction, serving leading institutions across the U.S., including Ivy League universities, public flagships, top-ranked private institutions, regional colleges, and graduate/professional programs. We're entering an exciting growth stage and hiring one of our first dedicated go-to-market leaders to help build TruLeague's next chapter.
You won't start from scratch. We've built an early sales motion and playbook that's already producing strong results. You'll work directly with the Founder & CEO to formalize and strengthen that foundation—codifying what works into a repeatable playbook, closing gaps, testing new approaches, and building the systems needed to scale, while winning strategic university partnerships.
About the Role:
As our University Account Executive, you'll own the full enterprise sales cycle—from developing opportunities and building relationships to navigating complex university buying processes and closing strategic partnerships.
You'll work across the GTM funnel, using market signals, customer conversations, pipeline data, and experimentation to sharpen our ICP and positioning, improve conversion, and build repeatable paths to revenue. Working closely with the Founder & CEO, you'll have meaningful ownership across prospecting, account strategy, account-based marketing, positioning, and enterprise deal execution—shaping how TruLeague builds a repeatable, high-performing enterprise sales organization.
You'll thrive here if you're an exceptional seller who also likes to build: someone who values a strong foundation, brings new ideas to the table, and is always looking to improve.
What You'll Own:
1. Build Pipeline & Drive Enterprise Revenue
Own the full enterprise sales cycle: prospecting, discovery, demos, stakeholder alignment, negotiation, contracting, close, and CS handoff.
Build and manage a high-quality pipeline through outbound prospecting, referrals, conferences, partnerships, inbound, and strategic account development.
Develop and execute account strategies that navigate complex, multi-stakeholder university buying processes and turn opportunities into long-term partnerships.
Build trusted relationships across admissions, enrollment management, marketing, student success, and university leadership.
Consistently meet or exceed revenue targets with disciplined pipeline management, forecasting, and follow-through.
2. Own Account-Based GTM
Identify, segment, and prioritize high-value target institutions based on ICP, market opportunity, buying signals, and likelihood to convert.
Develop account-based GTM strategies for priority institutions, coordinating personalized outreach, messaging, content, events, and executive engagement.
Partner with Marketing on targeted campaigns, content, case studies, and sales enablement to move priority accounts through the funnel.
Map decision-makers, champions, influencers, and procurement stakeholders; develop multi-threaded engagement strategies.
Use account engagement and pipeline data to continuously improve how TruLeague identifies, engages, and converts high-value accounts.
3. Strengthen Positioning & Market Intelligence
Develop deep knowledge of our customers, prospects, competitors, and the higher ed enrollment landscape.
Use win/loss insights, objections, and competitive intelligence to sharpen positioning, messaging, and value proposition.
Identify emerging needs, buying triggers, and competitive shifts that inform GTM strategy.
Translate market learnings into stronger sales narratives, discovery questions, objection handling, and enablement materials.
Serve as a voice of the market internally for the Founder & CEO, Product, Marketing, and Customer Success.
4. Build & Scale the GTM Engine
Get deeply familiar with our existing playbook and identify what should be scaled, refined, automated, or rebuilt.
Partner with the Founder & CEO to refine ICP, segmentation, positioning, messaging, channels, and enterprise GTM motion.
Design and run GTM experiments across segments, messaging, outbound, conferences, partnerships, and referrals to find repeatable paths to revenue.
Track key GTM metrics—pipeline generation, conversion, sales velocity, win rates, deal size, channel performance, revenue.
Turn successful deals and learnings into repeatable playbooks, processes, and templates.
Strengthen CRM processes, pipeline reviews, forecasting, account planning, and sales enablement.
5. Develop Strategic Partnerships & Market Presence
Build relationships across associations, consultants, technology partners, and other higher ed stakeholders to expand reach.
Represent TruLeague at national and regional higher ed conferences through meetings, networking, presentations, and booth engagement.
Grow a strong network across admissions, enrollment management, marketing, student success, and university leadership.
Turn customers, industry relationships, and advocates into referrals, introductions, and new business.
Evaluate conferences, partnerships, and other channels based on their ability to generate qualified pipeline and revenue.
What We're Looking For:
5+ years in B2B SaaS sales, owning complex, full-cycle enterprise deals.
A proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota and closing meaningful new business.
Experience navigating multi-stakeholder sales processes and executive relationships.
Strong prospecting and pipeline-generation skills—comfortable creating opportunities, not just working inbound.
Ability to build trust quickly and translate customer needs into clear business value.
Strong account strategy and organizational skills, with disciplined CRM management and forecasting.
High ownership and initiative—comfortable making decisions and moving deals forward without waiting for perfect direction.
A builder's mindset: can execute an existing playbook while improving, removing, or creating what's needed as the business scales.
Comfort in a fast-moving environment where priorities evolve.
Collaborative approach, able to work closely with the Founder & CEO, Product, Marketing, and Customer Success.
Travel required (20–40%) across the U.S. for conferences, customer meetings, and industry events.
Preferred
Experience selling SaaS/technology into higher education.
Existing network within admissions, enrollment management, marketing, student success, or university leadership.
Experience navigating higher ed procurement, budgeting, or committee-driven purchasing.
Experience closing enterprise and multi-year SaaS agreements.
Experience joining an early-stage company and helping evolve a sales motion as it scales.
Experience developing sales processes, messaging, account strategies, or GTM approaches.
Familiarity with higher ed conferences, associations, and consultants.
Boston-based candidates preferred, though we're open to exceptional candidates across the U.S.
